Charley's Weekly Gripe: Foundation Shades
Hello Lovelies,So being pale and pasty has it's advantages as I am sure anyone with my skin tone will agree, but my biggest issue is that I can never find a foundation shade to match my skin that I actually enjoy using, I prefer a light foundation and a heavy coverage concealer. For concealer I go for Collection's Lasting Perfection in the lightest shade every time, without fail as it is plenty pale enough, but for foundation I am usually stuck!
My biggest problem is I am not willing to fork out £30 on a foundation just so it matches my skin tone perfectly and even then I struggle to find my best shade, I have tried being matched and given a sample but I do struggle and awful lot and I can only imagine what it's like for people with darker skin who have even less choice than me! Although I am finally set on a base routine that matches my skin well enough, I still have to go for a tinted moisturiser because the high street foundation market is so poor. However I will give credit where it's due L'oreal do the best range of pale and dark foundation shades as well as having an eclectic range of foundations from Nude Magic, a barely there foundation, rivalling MAC's Face and Body foundation to True Match; a full coverage foundation more like MAC's Studio Fix Fluid.
SO as much as I hate the drugstore for foundation there are some alternatives if you're willing to pay £10-£15 a go, if not however and you are a pale petal like myself I would suggest Natural Collection's tinted moisturiser and a higher coverage concealer!
