Same Love

I was listening to Macklemore earlier and it got me thinking, I think there is a lot of judgement passed on other people's relationships but honestly what's the point?

I don't care if you're of a different sexual orientation or whether you're single or in a relationship, to me you are a person and you are innocent until proven guilty. Judging others without getting to know them is possibly the worst thing you could possibly do, it is all based on prejudice. Who are you to judge someone else, or their relationship when it has nothing to do with you? I have been subject to having my relationship judged in the past but guess what? I AM HAPPY.

There are a lot of reasons people judge relationships; because they're cynical, they're an extremist man hating feminist, a total 'LAD' who only see's women as objects, word of mouth or just an idea they've gotten in their own head? But honestly if someone is doing this you should never doubt yourself, you should only look at them and allow them to have their opinion, what will it change? Unless you're friends with the person who is judging you nothing can  be done, however if you are friends with this person it's best to just remove them from your life. No one should ever dislike your happiness.

My boyfriend's name is Adam and without him I would still be very unhappy and unable to see the positives in my life, he is my best friend and I feel very grateful to be a part of his life. Anyone can say what they like about my relationship, it won't change anything, he does so much for me and I will never let him go because of a comment from someone who means nothing.
There are lots of reasons I am lucky to have Adam, for example:

  • He gets along with my family so well, and they always enjoy when he visits because he brings out the best in me.
  • He treats me all the time, even if I resist... I mean we've been to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, Cotswold Wildlife Park and London. Not to mention my incredible birthday presents!
  • He listens to all my problems and always helps me see the 'silver linings', and is always supportive of me and my decisions.
  • He compliments me every day, and has a way of making me feel confident and beautiful like I never have before.
  • He is so intelligent and passionate about things it's amazing to listen to him talking about anything he cares about.
  • He is completely the same as me and absolutely different in so many ways, it's so fun and refreshing to be around him.
  • He never gets angry at me and shouts even when I'm being an idiot, because he knows that getting angry is the worst thing to do with me.
  • He can deal with everything I have been through and help me when I am vulnerable, he can cope with panic attacks in the middle of the night and when I cry for no real reason. He is the first person who has stuck around despite seeing every part of me, even the ugly side.
  • He is the only person in the world, (other than my younger sister) who I can be completely myself around and never worry about how weird I am, because he is just as, if not weirder than me. He loves seeing me happy and never wants anything but to make me feel good, which is a rare quality to find nowadays in a friend let alone a boyfriend. I love him, flaws and all.
