School series: My experience this year
Seeing as I got my results yesterday I thought I would post something on my experiences in my first year of my A levels- unfortunately I didn't get the results I was hoping for, I didn't do too badly if I'm totally honest but I only want A's and maybe a B. I have taken some time to decide that I wish to restart my A levels at a college, I have rather high expectations of myself and I see that as a positive incentive as it helps me to work hard and achieve my full potential.Things I have learnt from this year:
- Organisation is absolutely key- a post to follow on my organisation plans for the following year
- Make the most of what you learn in class but never forget to do a lot of outside of class research
- ASK QUESTIONS- you will be treated more like an adult in Sixth Form so don't feel scared to ask questions about your subjects
- Get a solid revision plan in place for the whole year, you need to start studying from day 1
- Focus on classes not socialising, you have your whole future to go out partying and drinking
- If you get yourself into a bad place tell someone about it- all schools and colleges have support systems for their students
- Get involved! The more involvement, the better your University reference will be
- Work out your strengths and weaknesses from day 1, utilise your strengths and ignore your weaknesses, they're not important
- DON'T PANIC! Remember you're not paying for this education so there's no need to upset yourself over it, worst case scenario you can start again! You are young and have a whole life ahead of you, don't work yourself up over anything just try and stay calm and collected
I had a personality profile done by my Granddad (a business psychologist) whilst I was away in Portugal and it couldn't have been more helpful, it's completely changed my outlook on life and allowed me to see my strengths within a working environment and I am one hundred and ten percent certain that will greatly aid me in my second attempt at A levels!
I AM FEELING SO POSITIVE.
